Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, hospitality, housekeeping or customer service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Understanding of infection prevention and health and safety.
• Experience with stock management and maintaining equipment is desirable.
• Basic IT skills including email and data entry.
• A caring, compassionate and professional approach to patient experience.
• Flexible and willing to learn and adapt to service needs.
• Understanding of confidentiality, dignity and respect in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe and organised environment within the ICU.
• Manage ward stock, supplies and equipment; ensure items are available.
• Support infection prevention and control standards through cleaning and checks.
• Assist with patient meal ordering, food preparation and hydration support.
• Prepare and maintain patient bed spaces to support flow.
• Carry out equipment checks and coordinate repairs as required.
• Support environmental audits and contribute to service improvements.
• Liaise with departments across the Trust (Portering, Estates, Stores, Hotel Services).
• Provide a welcoming and professional service to patients and relatives.
• Support the multidisciplinary team with non-clinical tasks to free clinical time.
