Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to support the ICU, maintaining cleanliness across patient and communal areas while following infection control guidelines. Qualifications

• Infection control and moving and handling policies knowledge.
• Experience in hospital housekeeping or similar environment preferred.
• Ability to work independently within defined guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Undertake housekeeping duties to ensure smooth operation of the ICU, including tidiness of the unit, kitchen, coffee room, visitor’s room, sluice and store rooms.
• Ensure daily fresh supplies in visitor’s room and keep bed linen tidy; clean crockery.
• Prepare trays of tea/coffee for grieving relatives.
• Prioritise cleaning patient bed spaces daily following infection control guidelines.
• Follow monthly rota for cleaning shelves and cupboards; change bed curtains on rota; record temperatures in the log.
• Assist nursing staff in cleaning bed spaces after patient discharge.
• Dispose of soiled linen per Infection Control policy; use sterilizer for wash bowls.
• Report accidents, incidents, and maintenance needs; liaise with Ward Clerk for repairs.
• Adhere to infection control and moving and handling policies.
