Job summary

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic ICT Technician to join the ICT team. You will provide day-to-day technical support, help maintain the Council's ICT infrastructure and support technology projects across a range of systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, networking, and digital transformation initiatives.

Working as part of a small but skilled team, you will support staff and elected Members, travel between Council sites, install and configure desktop PCs, laptops,

Qualifications

  • Experience providing ICT support to users in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience installing and supporting ICT hardware and software.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel between Council locations.

Job description

Epsom & Ewell Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused ICT Technician to join our friendly and professional ICT team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ICT professional looking to develop their career across a broad range of technologies while supporting the delivery of high-quality services to Council staff and elected Members. As an ICT Technician, you will provide day-to-day technical support, assist with maintaining and improving the Council's ICT infrastructure, and support the delivery of technology projects. The role offers exposure to modern cloud technologies, cybersecurity, networking, infrastructure, telephony and digital transformation initiatives. Working as part of a small but highly skilled team, you will play a key role in ensuring the Council's technology services remain secure, reliable and responsive to customer needs.

  • Provide first and second-line technical support to users across the organisation.

Physical Requirements and Travel This role includes hands-on deployment, installation and support of ICT equipment across Council locations. Duties will involve setting up and moving desktop PCs, monitors, laptops, printers, telephony equipment and associated peripherals, together with assisting with office moves, technology refresh programmes and new system deployments. The post holder must be able to transport equipment between locations and will require a full UK driving licence. The role will involve regular travel between EEBC sites and may require travel to locations across the future East Surrey Council area as Local Government Reorganisation progresses.

We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused ICT professional with excellent troubleshooting skills and a passion for technology. You will have experience supporting users and maintaining ICT systems, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to a non-technical audience.,

  • Experience providing ICT support in a professional environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems and Microsoft 365.
