Job summary

North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is seeking an ICC Call Handler to join the Integrated Contact Centre. The role offers full-time hours (37.5 per week) with training lasting ten weeks, covering 999, 111 or Patient Transport Services areas.

The position requires handling a wide range of calls with empathy and clear communication, including potentially life-saving guidance. Initial training is full-time; conversion to other areas is possible.

Qualifications

• Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent (one English).
• Experience in call handling/customer service is advantageous.
• Good data entry skills and high keyboard/typing ability.

Responsibilities

• Handle calls from a wide range of patients with care and compassion.
• Complete patient assessments over the phone.
• Provide clear, correct advice that could save a life while staying calm.
• Offer reassurance in distressing situations.
