Job summary

Co-op in Manchester is seeking a Principal Identity and Access Manager to shape and lead IAM across the organisation, ensuring the right people have the right access at the right time while guarding against evolving security threats.

You will mentor IAM engineers, set standards and guide adoption of Zero Trust, strong authentication and modern identity controls, partnering with architecture, engineering and security teams to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Significant experience designing, implementing and leading IAM capabilities within a large organisation.
• Strong expertise in IAM technologies, identity governance and modern security approaches.
• Proven track record solving complex identity and access challenges while balancing risk and business needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Co-op's IAM capability, setting direction for secure access across the organisation.
• Develop and embed IAM standards, frameworks and best practices.
• Lead teams responsible for IAM engineering and access control operations.
• Drive adoption of Zero Trust principles, conditional access and strong authentication.
• Partner with architecture, engineering and security to design secure identity solutions.
