Job summary

Southern Water is hiring a Water Quality Case Scientist in Worthing with hybrid working (2 days in the office). You will manage customer cases related to drinking water quality from start to finish, acting as the SME on relevant science topics and coordinating investigations and testing with internal teams and external customers.

The role requires a degree in a science, environmental or engineering field, strong communication skills, and an ability to work with customers.

Qualifications

• Degree in science, engineering or environmental discipline.
• Good communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Experience in customer service is advantageous.
• Willingness to pursue Chartered Status with company support.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations including coordinating water sample collection and analysis.
• Keep customers updated on case progress via email, phone and letters.
• Liaise with internal departments to progress investigations.
• Champion continuous improvement within the team.
• Escalate queries to ensure timely case closure.
• Own and manage the full case load to resolution.
