Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a Water Smart Development Specialist to translate water-smart concepts into practical solutions for developers, designers and authorities in a hybrid-working role based around Huntingdon. The role sits within the Environmental Outcomes / Sustainability team and focuses on turning evidence into implementable guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting the design, specification or implementation of water, environmental or infrastructure solutions, ideally within the built environment.
• Knowledge of water efficiency, rainwater harvesting, greywater recycling, public health engineering, sustainable drainage or Integrated Water Management.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, accessible guidance for diverse audiences.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-engagement skills with developers, consultants, local authorities and partners.
• Practical experience developing or communicating technical guidance or best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist technical input on water-smart approaches from early-stage development to demonstrator projects.
• Support development projects by reviewing proposals, answering technical queries and identifying opportunities to implement water-smart solutions.
• Create practical tools and guidance documents, including design guidance, notes and example specifications.
• Support pilot projects, assess technologies and capture lessons learned for wider adoption.
• Deliver workshops and knowledge-sharing activities for internal and external audiences.
• Monitor emerging technologies and regulatory changes to identify opportunities.
• Capture and share learning to enable successful approaches to be replicated.
