Job summary

Flextronics - The Flex Company in Kendal, Cumbria is seeking a Customs and Trade Compliance Coordinator to support UK operations and the planned spin‑off into Axiom. You will guide compliance for imports/exports, liaise with partners, and ensure regulatory adherence while enabling efficient trade processes.

This role requires driving improvements and collaborating across teams. The position involves maintaining compliance documentation, participating in audits, and travelling within the UK North

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited university with focus on Supply Chain, Customs, Business Admin or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience in a Trade Compliance or Customs Compliance role.
• Knowledge of Customs and Trade Compliance regulations, EU customs guidelines.
• Experienced in Export Control compliance and Export Classification.
• Experience with customs import and export declarations and customs broker management.
• Demonstrated business reasoning, analytical and critical thinking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and strong communication skills.
• High degree of self-management, enthusiasm and results-driven.
• Ability to travel 10-20% within the UK North West.
• Eligibility to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of import/export regulations and trade initiatives.
• Develop and maintain policy and procedures to ensure Customs compliance.
• Ensure import/export documentation adheres to customs standards.
• Perform regular customs compliance activity including classification, valuation and origin.
• Notify manager of audit activity or non‑compliance and implement corrective action.
• Screen Sanctions and Restricted/Denied Party Lists as required.
• Provide advice on customs/international trade requirements to the business.
• Maintain record-keeping per HM Revenue & Customs requirements.
• Support audits by EMEA Customs Manager and Global Trade Compliance.
• Act as CBAM authorised declarant for Anord Mardix UK.
• Coordinate UK Trade Compliance activities and disseminate information.
• Educate vendors and buyers on EU customs guidelines.
• Attend import/export compliance seminars for updates.
