Job summary

Essential Employment is seeking a Technical Officer for the Home Improvement Agency in Newbury. The role is hybrid, involving office, home, and on-site surveys with customers, approximately 2 days on site.

The officer will lead technical advice, inspections, and project coordination for adaptations under relevant housing policies. Applicants should have a full UK driving licence, willingness to attend meetings, and the ability to work with care managers, OTs, and carers.

Qualifications

• Provide comprehensive technical advice and support to the team.
• Carry out inspections and prepare schedules of work.
• Coordinate schemes of improvement and repair with contractors.
• Ensure compliance with Building and Planning Regulations and HSE.

Responsibilities

• Provide extensive technical advice and support to the team and service users for property adaptations.
• Carry out full technical inspections from start to completion.
• Manage schemes of improvement with specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Ensure work complies with regulations and liaise with contractors and clients.
• Maintain records, prepare KPI data, and support service planning and delivery.
