Job summary

Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a Senior Technical Officer for the Home Adaptations & Improvement Service within Housing Services. The role focuses on delivering home improvement schemes funded by grants/loans, addressing disrepair, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

The post requires experience in repairs/adaptations, knowledge of construction methods, building regulations and CDM, and a readiness to undergo further training.

Qualifications

• Significant experience of repairs and adaptations in the home.
• Sound knowledge of construction methods, building regulations and CDM regulations.
• Willingness to undertake further training to keep skills updated.

Responsibilities

• Draft, design and deliver complex schemes of work for Home Improvement & Minor Adaptations.
• Act as service lead officer for technical queries and development in relation to home improvements and adaptations.
• Provide training, mentoring and guidance to Technical Officers; work autonomously or as part of a team.
