Job summary

Vax is seeking a Systems Developer to join our Information Systems team. The role focuses on developing, integrating, and supporting digital platforms powering our business and customer experience.

You will work with Magento, PHP, Node.js, AWS, OpenSearch, APIs and AI technologies to deliver reliable, scalable solutions. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days onsite, 2 days remote) and opportunities to work on cloud-hosted applications, monitoring, and APIs with a focus on

Qualifications

• Experience with software development and modern software engineering practices.
• Exposure to Node.js development and application integrations.
• Understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working with SQL databases.
• Knowledge of Git, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and support the digital platforms powering the business and customer experience.
• Work across Magento, PHP, Node.js, AWS, OpenSearch, APIs, and AI technologies to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Develop and enhance applications and custom functionality.
• Build and support services for integrations, automation, and business operations.
• Create secure integrations between eCommerce, operational, and third‑party systems.
• Maintain monitoring and observability tools and cloud-hosted apps in AWS.
• Investigate production issues and improve system reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
• Contribute to API-first, headless, and composable commerce initiatives.
• Explore and implement AI-enabled capabilities to improve outcomes.
