Job summary

Street Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (L5) in Manchester. You will own a codebase area end-to-end, directing design decisions and collaborating with designers and engineers to build scalable features.

The role emphasises AI tooling, security moves, and platform upgrades within a high-autonomy environment. You will work with PHP/Laravel and modern JS frameworks (Vue 3/React/Angular), plus AWS services (ECS, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, RDS).

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with PHP and Laravel; solid MVC fundamentals and framework concepts.
• Experience with Vue 3, React, or Angular.
• Production experience with AWS services (ECS, Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, RDS is a plus).
• AI-native development using tools/plugins (e.g., Claude Code).
• Design scalable solutions with performance considerations and minimal unnecessary optimisation.

Responsibilities

• Own area of the codebase end-to-end and shape its direction with scalability in mind.
• Lead parallel sessions while focusing on design decisions, reviews and complex problems.
• Contribute to major technical moves: security, architecture, and platform upgrades.
• Help advance the team's AI infrastructure and CI/CD processes.
