Vax in the United Kingdom is seeking a Systems Developer to join its Information Systems team. You will work on modern technologies including Magento, PHP, Node.js, AWS, OpenSearch, APIs, and AI to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

This role follows a hybrid pattern: 3 days on site and 2 days remote, offering exposure to eCommerce integrations, cloud hosting, and continuous improvement across our tech landscape. Collaboration with stakeholders is essential to deliver impactful outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Systems Developer, you’ll play a key role in developing, integrating, and supporting the digital platforms that power our business and customer experience.

You’ll work across a modern technology stack including Magento, PHP, Node.js, AWS, OpenSearch, APIs, and AI technologies, helping to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.

Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and enhancing applications and custom functionality
• Building and supporting services for integrations, automation, and business operations
• Creating secure integrations between eCommerce, operational, and third-party systems

What We're Looking For

• Experience with software development and modern software engineering practices
• Exposure to Node.js development and application integrations
• Understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and asynchronous processing
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Knowledge of Git, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD practices
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Desirable Experience

• AWS cloud services, particularly Lambda
• Monitoring and logging tools such as OpenSearch
• API-first, headless, or composable commerce architectures
• AI-assisted development tools and emerging AI technologies
• Experience with LLMs, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), or agent-based solutions
• Magento development experience
• nodejs, PHP, javascript language understanding
