Job summary

Doddle Cover is seeking a technically minded Systems & Automation Assistant to support our business systems, software testing, office IT and automation projects. Working directly with the Commercial Director, this junior role suits someone who enjoys technology, solving problems and understanding how systems work.

You do not need extensive commercial experience, but you will need to be organised, curious and willing to investigate issues. We provide full training and a varied workload.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in systems, technology and automation.
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence using Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
• Ability to organise and prioritise work.
• Willingness to learn new systems and technologies.
• Proactive approach to investigating and resolving issues.
• Desirable: SQL basics, Python basics, Excel/Power BI, APIs/JSON understanding, insurance knowledge, IT admin experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day administration of business systems.
• Provide first-line IT and system queries support.
• Help set up equipment, user accounts and system access.
• Liaise with external IT providers and system suppliers regarding issues.
• Log, investigate and follow up system issues.
• Test new system functionality and integrations.
• Record test results and re-test fixes.
• Support automation and process-improvement projects.
• Identify repetitive tasks that could be automated.
• Work with data extracts, spreadsheets and system reports.
• Maintain simple system documentation and user guides.
• Assist with other systems and automation projects as required.
