Job summary

Essential Marketer is seeking an AI Systems Developer to join their Bromsgrove-based team. You will help build internal tools and AI-powered workflows, integrating APIs and automations to enhance agency efficiency and client delivery.

The role emphasises practical ability over formal qualifications, with a hybrid working model and a focus on learning and adapting to cutting-edge AI tools and marketing tech. A UK work authorisation is required.

Qualifications

Experience in software development or coding projects.
Strong understanding of APIs and integrations.
Experience using AI coding tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot or similar.
Understanding of automation platforms and workflows.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Experience with Python, JavaScript or similar languages.
Experience with databases and cloud platforms is desirable.
Familiarity with SEO, PPC or digital marketing workflows is desirable.
Knowledge of Zapier, Make, n8n or similar is desirable.
Experience building internal business systems or SaaS tools is desirable.
Understanding of prompt engineering and AI workflow design is desirable.
Formal qualifications are not essential; practical ability and curiosity are valued.
Willingness to commute or relocate to Bromsgrove.
Work authorisation in the United Kingdom is required.
Approximately 1 year of software development experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop internal systems and tools using AI-assisted development workflows.
Build automations to improve agency efficiency and scalability.
Integrate third-party APIs and software platforms.
Create AI-powered workflows for marketing, reporting and operations.
Work with platforms such as OpenAI and other LLM technologies.
Assist in building client-facing systems and web applications.
Research and test emerging AI tools and technologies.
Collaborate with SEO, PPC and web development teams to solve operational challenges.
Document systems and processes clearly.
Identify opportunities where AI can streamline operations and automate tasks.
Combine coding, APIs, automation and AI tools to rapidly build practical systems.
