Job summary
Summer-Browning Associates Ltd in East Kilbride (Glasgow) is seeking a Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator for a 12-month assignment with hybrid work (60% onsite). The role focuses on maintaining enterprise SQL Server environments with emphasis on HA/DR, security, and automation.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SQL Server 2019, PowerShell scripting, Always-On, and Log Shipping in large-scale deployments.
Qualifications
- Experience in installing, configuring, and administering Microsoft SQL Server 2019.
- Experience developing PowerShell scripts for automation.
- Understanding of SQL Server HA/DR solutions.
- Experience with Always-On Availability Groups and clustering.
- Experience with Log Shipping for disaster recovery.
- Knowledge of SPs/CUs and Windows patches.
- Knowledge of SQL Server RBAC and AD integration.
- Familiarity with TLS/SSL certificates and encryption for SQL Server communications.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer SQL Server 2019.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell automation scripts.
- Design and implement HA/DR solutions for enterprise environments.
- Manage Always-On Availability Groups and clustering setups.
- Implement Log Shipping for disaster recovery.
- Apply SPs/CUs and Windows security patches.
- Enforce security best practices including RBAC and AD integration.
