Job summary

A&O Shearman is seeking a skilled SQL Database Engineer to manage MS SQL and Azure SQL platforms across on-premises, AVS, and cloud environments. You will implement backup/restore procedures, monitor performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability and robust database operations.

The role requires PowerShell scripting, Linux familiarity, and experience with DevOps tools like GitHub.

Qualifications

Proficient in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Server.

Responsibilities

Support databases for applications across the firm, including finance, CRM, and time capture systems.
Support other business-critical applications, file transfer, legal tech, and various services.
Collaborate with third parties and other service teams to deliver a world-class DB service.
Maintain MS SQL and Dynamics 365 platforms, on-premises, Azure, AVS, and cloud environments.
Develop backup/restore procedures and automation to turn repeatable tasks into repeatable processes.
Monitor database metrics, ensure availability, scalability, and performance of all DB systems.
Lead database-related projects and ensure timely delivery.
Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support for databases and apps.
