Job summary
Castle Trust Bank in Basingstoke is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to support reliability, security and performance of our database estate across production and non-production environments. You will monitor health, optimise performance, manage backups, and implement changes, while collaborating with engineering teams and an external DBA partner.
Hybrid role with 3 days in the office and 2 at home.
Qualifications
- Proven experience administering business-critical relational databases, including Microsoft SQL Server.
- Strong knowledge of database performance monitoring, tuning and optimisation.
- Experience with backup, restore, replication and disaster recovery processes.
- Scripting and automation experience, PowerShell preferred.
- Experience delivering changes through formal change management and release processes.
Responsibilities
- Support performance, availability and security of SQL Server estate.
- Deliver database changes, patching and security updates.
- Maintain backup, restore and disaster recovery processes.
- Investigate incidents, address root causes and participate in on-call rota.
- Drive automation and adopt source control and deployment best practices.
