Job summary

Howden, a Baker Hughes company, seeks a Project Manager to lead complex compressor package projects from contract award to completion in a fast-paced engineering environment. You’ll coordinate across engineering, procurement, manufacturing and commissioning teams, keeping safety, schedule and budget at the forefront.

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent in engineering.
• Experience delivering engineering projects in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Energy or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and lifecycle.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, forecasts and customer deliverables.
• Contract management and project controls knowledge.
• Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage risks, opportunities and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of compressor packaging or rotating equipment.
• PM qualification such as APM, PMP or PRINCE2.
• Experience with international customers and suppliers.
• Experience with MS Project or Smartsheet.

Responsibilities

• Deliver complex compressor package projects from sales handover through to final completion.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts and cash flow performance.
• Act as the primary day-to-day contact for customers throughout project execution.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, manufacturing and commissioning functions.
• Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks, issues and opportunities.
• Ensure project requirements, contractual obligations and customer expectations are achieved.
• Manage project scope changes and evaluate schedule and commercial impacts.
• Support procurement and supplier management activities to maintain project delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to manage technical documentation and resolve project queries.
• Produce regular project status reports and participate in customer review meetings.
• Support project financial performance through effective cost management and forecasting.
• Prepare project documentation and coordinate handover to commissioning and aftermarket teams.
• Promote continuous improvement, quality and a strong safety culture throughout project delivery.
