Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with strong hydraulic analysis and design expertise to join our Water Consultancy Division in the UK. You will work on a wide range of water related projects across the UK and globally, leading hydraulic analyses, designing pipelines, surge analysis, and coordinating with mechanical, process, and environmental teams for successful project delivery.

You will mentor junior engineers, engage with clients and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery

Qualifications

• Demonstrable technical experience of pressurised and open-channel hydraulics in civil engineering across project life cycles.
• Experience of surge analysis tools such as WANDA or Bentley Hammer.
• Experience developing hydraulic calculations and profiles for water and wastewater schemes.
• Proven ability to lead delivery of technical projects within budget.
• Experience on multi-disciplinary water pipeline and networks projects with environmental, geotechnical, electrical and mechanical engineers involved.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills for reports and presentations.
• Chartered membership of ICE or CIWEM.

Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering hydraulic analysis and design within your area of responsibility across potable and wastewater projects.
• Producing and reviewing engineering calculations, specifications, drawings and reports.
• Mentoring more junior colleagues, providing technical guidance and advice.
• Engaging with the Client and stakeholders to ensure efficient delivery and communicate issues affecting programme, quality or cost.
• Preparing time and budget estimates for proposals.
• Working collaboratively across disciplines to deliver projects within your portfolio.
• Engaging with best practice and your own professional development.
