Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Civil Engineer to join the Water Consultancy division, delivering hydraulic analysis for clean water and wastewater projects across the UK. You will work with process, mechanical, structural and environmental teams to develop sustainable water infrastructure solutions.

You will contribute to design work, calculations, specifications and reports, while growing your expertise in surge analysis, network modelling and pipeline design within a hybrid working environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in pressurised and open-channel hydraulics applied to civil and environmental engineering projects.
• Experience undertaking hydraulic calculations and design for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Experience in the hydraulic design of pressurised and gravity pipeline systems.
• Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, geotechnical, process, electrical and mechanical engineers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to colleagues, clients and other stakeholders.
• An understanding of designers' responsibilities under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
• A proactive approach to problem solving and a willingness to develop technical expertise across a broad range of water-sector projects.

Responsibilities

• Delivering hydraulic analysis and design for a range of clean water and wastewater projects.
• Undertaking engineering calculations and developing technical specifications, drawings and reports.
• Collaborating with clients, stakeholders and project teams to support the successful delivery of projects.
• Identifying and communicating technical, programme, quality and cost risks, together with potential mitigation measures.
• Working effectively across multiple disciplines to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Contributing to technical excellence, innovation and continuous improvement within the team.
• Taking ownership of your professional development and actively engaging with industry best practice.
