Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Civil Engineer with a strong hydraulic background to join our Water Consultancy team. You will work on diverse UK and international water infrastructure projects, contributing to design of transmission pipelines, treatment works, pumping stations, and networks.

We encourage collaboration with process, mechanical, structural, geotechnical, and environmental specialists to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Experience in pressurised and open-channel hydraulics applied to civil and environmental projects.
• Hydraulic calculations and design for water and wastewater facilities.
• Hydraulic design of pressurised and gravity pipeline systems.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams (structural, geotechnical, process, electrical, mechanical).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for stakeholders.
• Understanding of CDM responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver hydraulic analysis and design for clean water and wastewater projects.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams to deliver projects.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation measures.
• Work across disciplines to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Contribute to technical excellence and continuous improvement.
