Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior data engineering professional to lead the technical delivery of data initiatives for major infrastructure and environmental projects across the UK. You will own data platform development, ETL/ELT processes and governance, ensuring scalable, secure solutions that unlock value from data.

You will mentor colleagues, collaborate with GIS and digital specialists, and help shape standards and best practices while delivering high-quality outcomes for clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering background with ownership of databases.
• Experience designing enterprise data platforms and pipelines.
• Ability to mentor juniors and lead delivery teams.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical delivery of data projects or workstreams from concept through delivery with oversight from senior leadership.
• Design, build and optimise enterprise data platforms and data pipelines.
• Develop robust data models to support analytics and decision making.
• Champion automation and engineering best practices through scripting, testing and deployment pipelines.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and analysts to grow capability.
