Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland seeks a Lead GIS Consultant to steer multi-disciplinary geospatial projects across Water, Energy, Earth and Environment. You will lead delivery, shape solutions, and guide a team of GIS professionals, driving innovation and client-focused value.

You will mentor staff, develop proposals, and champion governance and best-practice. The role includes occasional travel to client offices and other WSP sites.

Qualifications

• In-depth GIS principles and data management across sectors.
• Experience designing and deploying Esri Enterprise solutions.
• Ability to lead and mentor a GIS team and deliver client-focused solutions.
• Strong proposal and cost-estimation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership of the GIS team and ensure capability aligns with project needs.
• Lead the GIS element on major projects with DCO/EIA focus.
• Drive digital transformation through innovative geospatial solutions.
• Manage programmes/resources, ensuring delivery to standards, scope and budget.
• Develop technical proposals and bids to support business development.
• Develop and mentor a customer-focused GIS team.
• Develop efficient working practices to deliver best-value services.
• Drive innovation and provide technical leadership on high-quality solutions.
• Occasional travel to other offices for business development and meetings.
