Job summary

WSP is seeking a senior data engineering professional to lead delivery of data platforms and pipelines for major infrastructure and transport projects across the UK. You will shape standards, mentor colleagues and drive automation and modern analytics in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary team.

The role emphasizes Azure-based data ecosystems, ETL/ELT development, and governance, with senior technical leadership guiding strategy and quality assurance.

Qualifications

• Experience in data engineering with database ownership or administration responsibilities.
• Experience in data engineering, database architecture or enterprise data platform delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day technical delivery of data engineering projects or workstreams from concept to delivery.
• Translate business challenges into scalable technical solutions and ensure quality, security and performance.
• Design, build and optimise enterprise data platforms and data pipelines with modern analytics capabilities.
• Mentor junior engineers and analysts to develop technical and professional skills.
• Collaborate with GIS and digital specialists to develop integrated geospatial data solutions and innovative workflows.
