Job summary

Southern Water in Durrington is seeking a Developer Services Senior Commercial Lead to drive the commercial and financial management of Developer Services. You will provide senior commercial advice, governance and cost recovery across the function, working with the Contracts Manager and leadership team.

You will oversee contracting, commercial models and financial controls, and lead negotiations and assurance across a portfolio of water and wastewater activities.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, risk and customer outcomes.
• Ability to challenge contractor valuations and compensation event submissions robustly and fairly.
• Ability to lead complex commercial negotiations and determine the appropriate commercial position.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling capability.
• Understanding of end-to-end financial control and identifying weaknesses in processes.
• Excellent stakeholder management across operations, commercial and finance.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop the commercial strategy for Developer Services and align contracting, models and financial controls with objectives.
• Lead the commercial management of Developer Services delivery contracts.
• Own end-to-end commercial and financial control framework for Developer Services across water and wastewater activities.
• Ensure effective financial controls across expenditure, commitments, purchase orders, accruals, contractor payments and income.
• Provide assurance on completeness and accuracy of financial reporting, forecasts and cost recovery.
