Job summary

Southern Water is seeking two experienced Commercial Leads to drive commercial strategy across major infrastructure projects delivered through alternative financing models. You will shape contracts, risk allocation and payment mechanisms, liaising with regulators, investors and delivery partners to secure value for money.

The role reports to the Head of Commercial, Major Projects, and requires strong negotiation skills and a track record in regulated infrastructure sectors such as water.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial and contract negotiation experience on large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Experience in regulated infrastructure sectors such as water, energy or transport.
• Degree or equivalent professional experience in commercial, legal, financial, engineering or project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead project-level commercial and contracting strategy for DPC, DBFOM and/or SIPR projects.
• Develop, negotiate and manage complex long-term commercial agreements and procurement arrangements.
• Shape commercial models, payment mechanisms and risk allocation strategies.
• Provide commercial input into business cases and investment approvals.
• Manage commercial risks and ensure governance throughout the project lifecycle.
