Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc, powering Scotland via its Power Transmission & Distribution division, is seeking Quantity Surveyors to join a growing commercial team. You’ll handle costs, procurement, and reporting, supporting senior staff across a variety of projects with a collaborative, values-driven approach.

Essential qualifications include a Quantity Surveying degree, CSCS card, and professional membership progress (MRICS/MCIOB/MCInstCES).

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience
• CSCS Academically/Professionally Qualified Person Card
• MRICS, MCIOB, MCInstCES, or working towards professional membership

Responsibilities

• Managing costs and income within your area of responsibility
• Producing cost reconciliations and commercial reports
• Measuring, recording and valuing work in line with company procedures
• Building estimates from first principles
• Interpreting drawings, specifications and works information
• Supporting customer and stakeholder management activities
• Understanding and monitoring project programmes and commercial performance
• Managing subcontract relationships and procurement activities
• Preparing and reviewing tender documentation
• Supporting supply chain performance and value delivery
