Job summary

AECOM is recruiting a Senior / Principal Power Systems Engineer in London to lead grid connection studies and power system analyses for energy projects across the UK & Ireland. You will develop and deliver grid connection services, coordinate with clients and OEMs, and support bids in a dynamic energy market.

The role requires deep experience in UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5, P28, and proficiency in PSCAD, PowerFactory and Python scripting, with a strong communications skillset for stakeholder

Qualifications

• Proven experience in engineering design consultancy or utility planning for transmission and distribution.
• Strong knowledge of UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5 and P28 for generator/loads connections.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of electrical design through power system studies.
• Undertake detailed power system/grid code compliance studies using tools such as PSCAD, PowerFactory and PSS/E.
• Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.
• Undertake grid connection due diligence including grid prospecting, connection optioneering, risk assessment and capacity/constraints assessment.
• Liaise with OEMs and clients to drive the technical outcomes.
• Support with bids/proposals.
