Job summary

Portfolio Payroll Limited in Portsmouth is seeking a Payroll Manager to own processing for Bureaus and head office teams, with hands-on duties from onboarding and employee record management to ensuring all benefits and pensions are covered in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role involves end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients, HMRC compliance, pensions, data accuracy in Sage, and a strong focus on detail, with hybrid working and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a sole payroll position.
• Experience within clients and bureau background.
• A good understanding of payroll legislation and best practice.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Experience working end to end dealing with all queries.
• Good communicator.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
• Manage payroll changes including new starters, leavers, and contract amendments.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation, pensions, and statutory payments.
• Reconcile payroll reports and liaise with Finance for payment approvals.
• Maintain employee records in the Sage Payroll and ensure data accuracy.
• End to end processing for a portfolio of clients
