Job summary

Portfolio Credit Control is seeking a Payroll Manager to own payroll processing for Bureaus and head office teams, ensuring on‑time, accurate payments. You’ll handle onboarding, employee records, benefits and pensions while developing broader bureau experience in a fast‑paced retail environment.

In this role you’ll manage changes, stay HMRC compliant, liaise with Finance, and maintain Sage payroll records end‑to‑end. Hybrid working options are available.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sole payroll position and payroll legislation knowledge.
• Experience working in clients/bureau payroll environments.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and data accuracy.
• Experience managing end-to-end payroll queries and issues.
• Excellent communication skills across teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on schedule for all employees.
• Manage payroll changes including new starters, leavers, and contract amendments.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC legislation, pensions, and statutory payments.
• Reconcile payroll reports and liaise with Finance for payment approvals.
• Maintain employee records in the Sage Payroll and ensure data accuracy.
• End to end processing for a portfolio of clients.
