Job summary

Health Partners is seeking an Occupational Health Physician to deliver expert medical advice and support for employee health, safety and wellbeing. You will handle pre-employment assessments, sickness absence management, ill-health retirement, and workplace health surveillance.

You will also advise insurers on disability and accident claims, support pension trustees, and may act as a professional witness in employment tribunals.

Qualifications

• DipOccMed qualification as a minimum requirement.
• Current GMC registration and licence to practise in the UK.
• Demonstrable experience within a similar role in the private sector for at least 2 years.
• Good understanding of employment law.
• HAVs testing is essential; IRR/Asbestos qualification would be desired.
• Rail work qualification would be desired.
• Hands on knowledge of health surveillance and screening.
• Outlook, Word essential; Excel and PowerPoint desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as an Occupational Health Physician to private & public sector organisations nationwide.
• Provide medical advice on disability to client insurance companies for long-term claims.
• Advise Pension Trustees on fitness for entry and ill health retirement reviews.
• Maintain clinical procedures using internal records system.
• Attend client premises to provide clinic services or case management.
• Provide health surveillance services and reviews at Physician level.
• Act as professional witness in judicial environments (e.g., Employment tribunals).
• Liaise with Administrators/Team Leaders on queries.
