Job summary

Health Partners are seeking an Occupational Health Physician to deliver expert medical advice and support, helping clients manage employee health, safety, and wellbeing in the workplace.

From pre-employment assessments and sickness absence management to ill-health retirement and workplace health surveillance, you will provide clear, practical guidance that enables businesses to meet their occupational health responsibilities effectively.

Qualifications

• DipOccMed qualification as a minimum requirement.
• Current GMC registration and licence to practise in the UK.
• Demonstrable private sector experience for at least 2 years.
• Good understanding of employment law.
• HAVs testing and IRR/Asbestos qualifications desired.
• Rail work qualification desired.
• Hands-on knowledge of health surveillance and screening.
• Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint proficiency desired.

Responsibilities

• Act as an Occupational Health Physician to private & public sector organisations nationwide, handling pre-employment through sickness and absence management to ill health retirement.
• Conduct a high volume of driver medical assessments, ensuring compliance with statutory medical fitness standards for drivers.
• Provide medical advice on disability to client insurers for long-term disability and accident claims.
• Advise Pension Trustees on fitness for entry into pension schemes and on early ill health retirement; provide reviews on existing claims.
• Utilise internal medical records and diary system to fulfil clinical procedures.
• Attend client premises to provide clinic services or case management advice.
• Provide health surveillance services at Physician level and reviews.
• Act as a professional witness for clients in judicial environments (e.g., Employment tribunal).
• Liaise with Administrators/Team Leaders regarding client and patient queries.
