Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a skilled NPI Project Engineer to lead new product introductions from design transfer to volume ramp-up. You will act as the key technical interface among engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain, ensuring successful launches across global external sites.

The role requires strong PM, proven experience in NPI/manufacturing environments, and excellent communication to coordinate cross-functional teams and drive projects on time.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electronic, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience in NPI, manufacturing, project engineering, or PC/server manufacturing environments.
• Experience with product validation, test methods and process control.
• Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to lead cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI activities for new products into external manufacturing sites globally.
• Manage product introductions from engineering builds through production release and ramp-up.
• Develop and execute project plans, launch schedules and milestone tracking.
• Coordinate Design Validation and Production Validation Testing.
• Ensure manufacturing readiness and successful product launches.
• Review designs for manufacturability and assembly optimisation.
• Support root cause analysis of hardware, firmware and manufacturing issues.
• Drive resolution of technical challenges with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Monitor project risks, costs, deliverables and timelines.
• Lead cross-functional meetings and provide regular stakeholder updates.
• Manage ECNs, change requests and product revisions using Windchill ERP.
• Create and validate manufacturing work instructions and test strategies.
• Support process qualification, yield improvement and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate BOM reviews and supplier readiness activities.
• Lead corrective and preventive actions to improve quality.
