Job summary

Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is seeking an experienced Networks Engineer to join its Digital Team in Greater Manchester. The role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and improving secure, high-performing network services to underpin critical public services.

You'll liaise with suppliers and internal teams, contribute to project delivery, ensure service availability and security, document systems, and support disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in relevant area or equivalent.
• Professional qualification and membership of a relevant professional body.
• Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
• ITIL Intermediate certificate relevant to the area of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Support design, implementation, maintenance and improvement of secure network services.
• Collaborate with suppliers and partners to deliver network solutions.
• Maintain performance, availability and security of network infrastructure.
• Assist with testing, documentation, and knowledge transfer across teams.
• Support incident resolution and changes within SLAs.
