Job summary

USP College is seeking a data-focused MIS Reporting & Automation Officer to design and enhance reporting and data management systems. You will build SQL-based data solutions and Power BI dashboards to support funding, compliance and operational performance.

Collaborating with MIS colleagues and stakeholders, you will automate manual processes, improve data quality and provide robust management information for decision-making across the College.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or equivalent, English and Maths Level 2.
• Experience using SQL to query, analyse and transform data.
• Experience producing management or operational reporting.
• Experience investigating and resolving data quality issues.
• Experience documenting technical processes and controls.
• Experience working within education or another regulated environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Commitment to secure and responsible data handling.
• Desirable Degree, Level 4 qualification or relevant professional certification.
• Experience within Further Education, including ILR and funding data.
• Experience with Power BI, APIs, system integrations, automation tools or version control.
• Knowledge of Python, low-code platforms, cloud data solutions or responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Developing, maintaining and continuously improving the College's reporting and data management systems.
• Work closely with MIS colleagues and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver efficient, accurate solutions.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and strengthen data quality controls.
• Provide robust management information that supports funding, compliance and performance.
• Develop SQL-based data solutions, reports and Power BI dashboards for decision-making.
• Investigate and resolve complex data issues to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
• Support system integrations, data transfers and technical documentation.
• Contribute to system improvements, testing and continuous development.
• Reduce data risks and improve efficiency through automation and low-code tools.
