Job summary

WGM Engineering, part of RSK Group, is seeking a Civil Design Engineer to join the Technical & Design team in Glasgow with hybrid working. The role involves developing practical civil design solutions from concept through to construction, working on water and wastewater projects and supporting delivery cross-functionally.

You will contribute to design reviews, manage packages, and work with in-house design, delivery, off-site manufacturing and modular build capabilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Experience in civil engineering design.
• Experience designing reinforced concrete structures and foundations.
• Knowledge of Eurocodes and CDM 2015.
• Ability to produce design calculations and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil design concepts into practical, buildable design solutions.
• Produce civil design calculations, technical documentation and design deliverables.
• Design and assess reinforced concrete structures, foundations, slabs, retaining structures, tanks and channels.
• Undertake site surveys to support design development.
• Manage civil design packages from concept through detailed design and construction support.
• Collaborate with Process, Mechanical, Electrical and Construction teams.
• Support site teams with technical queries and problem solving.
• Apply Eurocodes, British Standards, client specifications and CDM 2015 requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to DfMA and standardisation.
