Job summary

NMS Recruit Ltd t/a Russell Taylor Group is seeking a Lead Document Controller for a hybrid role based in Wolverhampton or Warrington. You will lead document control across engineering projects, ensuring strict revision control, audit trails and high standards of information management.

You will manage project documentation, set up and maintain DMS systems, and mentor a team of Document Controllers while collaborating with project teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in document control within engineering/manufacturing environments.
• Practical experience using Autodesk Vault or a similar DMS.
• Strong understanding of technical documentation, revision control and workflows.
• Experience maintaining auditable records and compliance with quality procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage document control across multiple projects, ensuring accurate records and smooth information flow with clients and suppliers.
• Set up and maintain project documentation systems using Autodesk Vault or similar DMS.
• Oversee engineering drawings, revision control, registers and transmittals.
• Ensure compliance with procedures and contractual requirements; conduct spot audits.
• Coordinate documentation through client systems as required, alongside the primary system.
• Provide day-to-day leadership and mentoring to Document Controllers.
• Review procedures and drive continuous improvements in document control processes.
• Support project teams with documentation tracking and administration.
