Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society is seeking a Software Development Engineer – Java to join the team responsible for customer facing Savings & Mortgage websites across YBS brands. You’ll design, develop, test and automate for Java/Spring MVC architecture, delivering full stack changes and supporting upcoming platform upgrades in a hybrid role based in Leeds/Bradford.

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience in a financial services context.
• Experience with Java frameworks, Spring, web services and XML.
• Able to work effectively in a regulated environment and communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and support full stack changes to transactional websites.
• Perform impact analysis and estimation on requirements and designs.
• Lead peer reviews of code, documentation, and tests.
• Ensure designs meet current and future architecture and infrastructure requirements.
• Provide out of hours support for services.
