Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society is seeking a Software Development Engineer for API & Microservices work in a hybrid role based in Leeds/Bradford. You will design, develop and test APIs and Spring Boot microservices that underpin our digital platforms.

You’ll implement automated pipelines, participate in peer reviews and collaborate with tech leads, architects, analysts, and product owners to estimate requirements. A strong focus on modern cloud technologies and CI/CD is essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Strong knowledge of modern technologies and cloud applications

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document and test automation for APIs and Java Spring Boot microservices
• Implement automated build pipelines and monitoring capabilities
• Lead peer reviews of documentation, code, unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with Tech leads, Architects, Analysts, Scrum Masters and Product Owners
• Ensure design meets current and future architecture and infrastructure requirements
• Provide out-of-hours support for services
