Job summary

Yorkshire Building Society is seeking a Principal Cyber Security Engineer to act as a senior technical authority, guiding information and cyber security across the organisation. The role includes leadership across threat and vulnerability management, IAM, and secure-by-design principles, with collaboration across architecture and change teams.

The position is hybrid with travel to Leeds & Bradford Head Offices, offering development opportunities and exposure to high-impact security initiatives

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in cyber security engineering across modern tooling and complex infrastructure.
• Ability to translate security requirements into business outcomes and define secure designs.
• Experience with threat identification, vulnerability management, and IAM; strong stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive consistent, high-quality security engineering practices across security, threat & vulnerability, and assurance teams
• Translate technical risks into clear, business-aligned decisions supporting change initiatives
• Strengthen organisational resilience through oversight of critical technologies and evolving threat response
• Provide expert technical leadership and act as escalation point for complex cyber security challenges
• Ensure security requirements are clearly defined and embedded into change and transformation activities
