Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services UK&I in Burgess Hill, UK, is seeking a Senior Java Engineer to design, develop and support enterprise Java applications within a financial services environment. You will work across the full development lifecycle, implement Spring, Spring Boot and microservices, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.

The role is hybrid with 40 hours per week and a strong focus on code quality.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Java enterprise development.
• Strong multithreading knowledge.
• Experience with Spring Framework (Spring MVC, AOP, IoC).
• Knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices architecture.
• Database experience with MySQL/Oracle/Couchbase.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Version control with Git and code quality tooling.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Java‑based applications using modern frameworks.
• Performing code analysis, debugging, and troubleshooting for stability and performance.
• Supporting integration across platforms and enterprise systems.
• Contributing to design discussions and solution architecture decisions.
• Ensuring code quality through testing, reviews, and documentation.
• Supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities.
• Collaborating with development, QA, and DevOps teams to deliver high‑quality solutions.
