Job summary

Proactive.IT Appointments Limited in Bristol seeks a Senior Java Developer to join the software engineering team delivering enterprise-scale solutions. This hands-on role involves designing, developing and enhancing high-performance applications while collaborating with architects and cross-functional teams.

You will mentor junior developers, drive engineering best practices and contribute to Agile sprint planning, code reviews and deployments.

Qualifications

• Extensive enterprise Java development experience.
• Expertise in Spring Boot and J2EE.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices; Kubernetes/OpenShift knowledge.
• Strong SQL skills with RDBMS, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Frontend experience with Angular, JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience with JBoss or Oracle 10gAS application servers.
• Proficiency with Git, Maven, Jenkins, and SDLC in Agile environments.
• Previous senior developer or technical leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and enhance enterprise software solutions.
• Analyse business requirements and contribute to technical design.
• Develop new features and product enhancements.
• Carry out code reviews, unit testing and performance optimisation.
• Support integration testing, bug fixing, releases and deployments.
• Collaborate within Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning and estimations.
• Produce technical documentation and promote development best practices.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
