Job summary

Howden is seeking an Account Handler for our Northampton office. The role focuses on renewals, mid-term adjustments, quoting, and invoicing premiums for SME clients. You will liaise with the Account Executive, handle market exercises, and maintain accurate records in Acturis. Hybrid work arrangement with three office days and two work-from-home days.

You should have at least 2 years in general insurance, be precise, client-focused, and capable of cross-selling across divisions.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of the main classes of General Insurance and the CII’s Code of Ethics and GDPR.
• Minimum of 2 years’ industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in achieving client retention targets by delivering excellent service.
• Collaborate with Account Executive to plan renewal strategy and attend meetings.
• Conduct market exercises to obtain competitive renewal terms.
• Obtain renewal terms and present to clients.
• Issue renewal documentation in line with contract certainty.
• Ensure premiums are collected before cover starts and per procedures.
• Record information on Acturis and manage the diary system.
• Process adjustments and notify insurers for updated documentation and premiums.
• Cross-sell products from other Divisions.
