Job summary

Thirteen Group is seeking a Housing Support Co-ordinator (Criminal Justice) on a fixed-term contract across the Tees Valley. The role supports people leaving custody to secure accommodation and rebuild independence, blending community and custodial work with some home-based tasks.

Responsibilities include managing a caseload, advising on housing, assessing risks, and coordinating with prisons, probation and local authorities to secure suitable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Positive, resilient approach with ability to support people with complex needs.
• Knowledge of the criminal justice system and local housing options is beneficial.
• Great communication and relationship-building skills; ability to de-escalate situations.
• Proficient IT users comfortable with digital systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Work with individuals in custody and the community to overcome housing barriers.
• Manage own caseload and create clear support plans to secure accommodation.
• Provide advice on housing, tenancy responsibilities and independent living.
• Assess risks and safeguarding needs and connect to appropriate specialists.
• Collaborate with prisons, probation, local authorities and partners on releases.
• Run one-to-one and group sessions to build life skills and confidence.
• Maintain accurate digital records and meet Ministry of Justice KPIs.
