Job summary

Thorn Baker Construction, in partnership with an established offsite construction manufacturer, is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth in the UK market. You will identify opportunities, build strategic relationships with developers and contractors, and support pre-construction and bid activities.

The role requires 3–4 years of BD experience in construction or related sectors, excellent communication, and a proactive, commercially aware approach.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3-4 years' business development experience within construction, offsite, manufacturing, or a related sector.
• Good understanding of the construction project lifecycle.
• Proven track record of generating and growing business.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Commercially aware with the ability to identify value-led opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business and partnership opportunities.
• Build relationships with developers, contractors, housing providers, and key stakeholders.
• Support pre-construction and bid engagement activities.
• Maintain and grow existing client accounts.
• Work closely with technical and delivery teams to develop tailored solutions.
• Monitor market trends and identify areas for business growth.
• Contribute to strategic business development planning.
