Job summary

Cirrus Logic is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to develop high-performance firmware for DSPs and microcontrollers with a focus on real-time performance, low latency, and power efficiency.

You will bridge architecture, firmware, and hardware, collaborating with SoC and board teams. Proficiency in C/C++, some assembly, and RTOS is required, with strong debugging and profiling skills. Hybrid UK role with 2 days in-office.

Qualifications

• Proficient in embedded firmware development in C/C++ for MCUs and DSPs.
• Hands-on experience with RISC V and/or Arm architectures including interrupts and memory.
• Understanding of register-level programming and memory-mapped I/O.
• Experience with concurrency, RTOS tasks, ISR design and timing determinism.
• Ability to optimize firmware for low latency, memory usage, and power.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain embedded firmware for DSP cores and MCUs (RISC V and/or Arm).
• Develop real-time signal-processing pipelines and DSP routines.
• Write and optimize firmware in C/C++ with some assembly where needed.
• Create and debug drivers and RTOS components (Zephyr or similar).
• Develop test strategies including unit tests and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Collaborate with hardware, FPGA/ASIC, systems and application teams.
