Job summary

Camlin Group in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, UK, seeks a Team Lead Firmware Engineer to manage a DSP/MCU firmware team. You will design, implement and optimize real-time DSP firmware, driving latency and throughput improvements across multiple projects.

You will lead hardware/software integration, mentor engineers, and conduct code reviews while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and high-quality documentation. Hybrid working is supported.

Qualifications

• Proven professional experience in the design, simulation, implementation, verification and validation of real-time systems on DSPs and Microcontrollers.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and ability to work with RTOS (FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
• Experience with lab equipment and peripheral protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, RS485/RS232).
• Familiarity with FPGA concepts and build systems (CMake).
• Experience with Git-based workflows (Git, GitLab).
• Hybrid working and on-site collaboration expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of DSP FW engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Plan and coordinate project activities to ensure on-time delivery, within scope.
• Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring alignment with team members’ skills and project requirements.
• Design, implement and debug firmware for DSPs and Microcontrollers for real-time applications.
• Ensure firmware meets strict real-time performance constraints with optimized latency and throughput.
• Lead hardware/software integration for seamless real-time operation.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and best practices.
• Conduct code reviews, design evaluations, and testing to uphold high-quality standards.
• Investigate and resolve complex technical issues in real-time systems.
