Job summary

Harrogate Grammar School is seeking an EHCP Coordinator to coordinate EHCP casework, ensuring timely applications, consultations and annual reviews. The role involves collaboration with pupils, families, school staff and Local Authority colleagues to secure appropriate SEND provision.

The post focuses on ensuring statutory compliance, positive outcomes for pupils with SEND, and effective coordination in a supportive, inclusive school environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of SEND legislation, the SEND Code of Practice and Local Authority SEND processes
• Experience of managing EHCPs and working within statutory guidance and timescales
• Experience of working collaboratively with children, parents and carers, school colleagues and external professionals
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, attention to detail and ability to interpret information
• Ability to manage sensitive or challenging situations with professionalism and empathy
• Commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people with SEND

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the EHCP process from applications and consultations through to annual reviews
• Ensure that pupil needs, outcomes and provision are identified and statutory requirements met
• Work with pupils, families, school staff and external agencies to support SEND planning
