Job summary

Durham County Council is seeking a Permanent Payments and Expenditure Officer in the Transactional and Customer Services team. This full-time, 37-hour role offers comprehensive training, mentoring, and the chance to support social care providers by ensuring accurate payments and recovering overpayments.

You will work in a supportive team, handle accounts payable duties, and interact with internal and external customers with a caring approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial processes or accounts payable in a transactional environment.
• Strong numerical and organisational skills required.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work with internal/external customers.

Responsibilities

• Process payments to Social Care providers and ensure accuracy.
• Provide responsive support to care providers and verify payments.
• Assist in reclaiming overpaid amounts and handling accounts payable tasks.
